Great option for a short stay at the beach. Location can't be beat. Rooms are clean. Small fridge, 2 burner electric stove with pots/pans. Dishes provided. Front of house rooms with a nice porch and partial ocean view. Great place to sit and get an ocean breeze. Everyday housekeeping changes towels, empties trash etc. We have been there twice this summer and will be back for another 3 night stay in August. Joe and Ann Marie are excellent hosts. Rooms: Clean Nearby activities: Beach is 200 steps away. Several restaurants within walking distance. Within a couple miles of Old Orchard Beach

This was our second stay at the Sand Dollar and it will certainly NOT be our last. Anyone familiar with old-school NJ Shore hotels/motels will feel right at home at this seaside gem - especially with the hospitality you'll receive. We certainly did. Everything was comfortable, home-y and scrupulously clean - plus the towels were among the softest of any accommodation we've ever stayed. We stayed in mid-September so continental breakfast was provided; was just what we needed: good, piping hot coffee, fresh fruits and individually-wrapped muffins & pastries. Fridge was WAY bigger than the usual for an efficiency/kitchenette and (also unlike the usual) the freezer WORKS! Our room faced the oceanside and provided us with refreshing salt air sea breezes and opportunities to take a short walk along the dune path to Scarborough Beach and its powder-like white sands. As birders, we enjoyed the close proximity to Pine Point and Scarborough Marsh as well as the beach and other nearby birding hotspots. There are PLENTY of restaurant options close to the Sand Dollar and plenty more down at Old Orchard Beach and up in Portland. But right there at the inn all was blissfully quiet and restful. Oh, and our stay was affordable and well worth every penny. Check it out!

Lovely time spent at the inn. Close to the ocean and not too far from the town.
