Just not the same service we have always got . I have bought my oil and propane here for the last 4 years? Not sure when it changed or why but I guess it's time to go outside my local area. Kinda stinks but I guess it is what it is.

Not sure what the business manager problem is. Back during the deep freeze, my elderly handicapped aunt's water stopped. They would only respond to heating issues. After calling multiple maritime offices finally reached manager Steve. Took a while for him to schedule an appointment for Feb 14 between 10 to 12. (Over a week from the freeze) my aunt called to tell me that no one had come. When I called the China office the office lady said that per notes Matt had been but never spoke to the homeowner. Per him the sump pump was cracked and she needed a new one. The bonas was that it was not under warranty. The pump was installed new on Feb 23, 2022. I can't imagine a company leaving a senior citizen with limited mobility without water this long. I carried water for her until I found out I have covid. What are the elderly to do? The plus for them is that they deliver oil regularly.

I rated one, because 0 is not an option. We have been a customer for 25 years and always got good service and competitive prices until the recent change of O'Brien becoming Maritimes Energy. Not only are the prices no longer competitive, but the service is with a long lead time and Maritime insists that if we don't buy oil or propane from them, we can't be serviced anymore. So we decided that it was time to part ways with Maritime despite being almost around the corner. We called them to come and pick up their Propane tank after getting another provider. They tried to tell us that they could make amends if we would stay with them; but the final demonstration of the customer service is that their tank is still in my front yard despite multiple follow up calls covering over a month. We were promised a pick up several times - today or tomorrow, and over and over. I finally decided to ask for the manager; but the clerk put my call into voice mail and they haven't returned the call. I would strongly recommend to anyone in the area to look for another provider.

Update #2: I was just told by Efficiency Maine that I am no longer eligible for a rebate because Maritime Energy failed to get everything submitted within the required timeframe. Update: despite being personally assured by a manager who called me within hours of this review I STILL do not have a rebate check another month and a half later. I am beyond frustrated with this company. We had a heat pump installed last April and I still have not received my rebate because of their administrative issues. They told us they would submit all the paperwork and we would receive a check back. In August I finally received an email back from them and here it is November and I still cannot get a response from Maritime on the status of the paperwork. Once they were paid they have no interest in assisting me. Customer service should extend beyond install especially when I am also a propane and oil customer. I really do not recommend working with this company.

Business Response on Google Mar 15th, 2023
Hi Debra,We understand and appreciate the care and concern you have for your elderly Aunt. We care too. However, we cannot accept blame on something outside of our doing. While this particular issue isn't due to Maritime Energy's installation or neglect in any way, nor is it our responsibility to fix, we still extended our services to you but you declined. We also do not set the rules on manufacturer's warranties, we only honor them with valid claims. We do not discuss in detail on Google Review's individual customer issues out of respect for privacy, but if you are still in need of help, please give us a call back and we'll be more than happy to help you and your Aunt resolve this.
