        I locked my keys and phone in my car in Annapolis, and it was about to get dark. I walked to a bar nearby first and asked if I could borrow a phone to call my husband and they declined to help. It was about to get dark and I was getting desperate so I walked to this library. The librarians on duty didn't hesitate to help me! I called my husband on their desk telephone and he was able to drive over and pick me up from there. While I waited for him I felt safe, welcome, and sheltered from the dark and the cold. I even found a book series to read that I ended up checking out the next day after I got my library card out of my car. The Annapolis Library really saved me that day!
