The team at Sandy Spring's Bank was tremendously helpful in processing my construction loan. While I've purchased and sold many homes over the years, this was my first construction loan. Brad's team helped me understand how the transaction would be handled, how I could obtain the best rates, how I could conserve cash for contingencies, and they generally made the process quick and efficient. Thank you! Update 7/25/2023: The principle rep that supported my construction loan, Brad Preisinger, has moved on. Caveat Empter 1 - If your construction loan is late in conversion to a standard loan due to construction delays, you will pay through the nose. 2 - Their contract doesnt state you MUST get a Builders Risk policy, but you do. That is all they will accept and these policies are impossible to get for major home renovations.
