I originally saw Jennifer Foster years back when I was with my previous employer. She was recommended to me by a co-worker, and during that time she was great to me. Seemed very kind, worked well with my anxieties, was very soft spoken, and overall I didnt have too terrible of a time.
I stopped going after having an abscessed tooth pulled in the office, and it having been a rather traumatic experience because I couldnt numb and the medication they gave me to sedate me, did not work. This wasnt necessarily any fault of hers, Ive always had issues with numbing in the past and usually have to have these procedures done surgically, but this needed to be done ASAP due to the infection.
I decided to go back more recently when I needed to have two crowns done, and thought this was a good time to get reestablished with the office and start getting some more regular work done. They offered a better deal for the crowns and accepted both of my insurances that I had at the time, and had even said there was a chance of my secondary insurance kicking in and paying for the remaining balance.
The process of getting the crowns for my root canals was pretty simple. The root canals themselves were done elsewhere. It took a while to get in for my crowns, but they kept me on a wait list and worked me in as soon as they could, which was also nice. Communication was pretty good in terms of that. So, I get my crowns.
I did have to open up a care credit account to pay for the remaining balance, which is fine. I expected this. But I was sent this message from the office on August 25th of 2023: Ji Jacqueline, We got the approval for your crowns from Maryland healthy smiles Yayy!! -Summit View Dental making me think that this remaining balance would be covered, or at least a portion of it. But then I didnt hear back from them. I checked in a month or so later after hearing nothing about this, and was told it had to be resubmitted for approval, etc. and to this day Ive never heard anything else about this or seen any of that reimbursement.
I noticed I was still a bit sore around my crowns after a while, and when I went to my dental cleaning, Jennifer noted I had some gum swelling around my crowns and advised me to brush up into my gums so I did this, but didnt notice much improvement. Next thing I know, only a few months later, one of my crowns just falls out.
I panicked, they worked me in the next morning. Their systems were down, which finethat stuff happens. We had some bad storms the night before. But there were a LOT of people there, and I waited for quite a bit of time. Despite their systems being down they were still somehow able to tell me I owed them $20+ but couldnt tell me why I owed them that. Of course they also still couldnt tell me why what they said would be covered by my secondary insurance still had not gone through so many months later. I did end up walking out, because I needed to get to work and I didnt feel as though I was going to be able to be seen for a while.
I went to another dentist to have my crown glued back in, and was then told by that dentist they could NOT glue my crown back in because it was pushed out by the swelling in my gums and would just be pushed out again. So, now I have to go to a periodontist to have my gums cut, so that my crown can be properly glued back into my mouth. Something this dentist was very surprised to hear wasnt noticed by Jennifer Fosters office previously.
Now I have a bare root canal in my mouth, a crown waiting to be glued back in, and I have to find another specialist to even get this fixed, while still being over $1500 in debt from these crowns that I was told were approved by my secondary insurance.
This office is affordable and accepts many different insurance carriers, but I guess you get what you pay for, and thats crowns falling out only months later and very unorganized staff who like to send texts/tell you procedures will be covered by your insurance but never follow through.

This place is awesome, best dentist around! The staff there are great and they make sure there's no pain involved if any at all. The only dentist I go to

My name is Prasad. I have been seeing Dr.Foster since 2021. this place is fast, inefficient service, talks about personal issues while treating patients, with music running.
1. I was treated for a crown; it took 6 months to heal.
2. they filled my back teeth for thrice, same tooth filling came off three times. when the emergency came up, they said they do not have appointments. I end up going to other dentist to fix cost me $450 additional.
3. their usual business is to find how much money you have in benefits in the beginning of the year and try to take all as soon as they can.
4. when I was in pain, they literally denied the service which they were unable to fix it. but definitely made me to run out of benefits and denied their own mistake.
FAST. inefficient, dirty, work. you will lose the benefits fast.
