Choe's Hapkido Karate Academy of Martial Arts and Kickboxing Mt Airy

My son went to Choe's at 4 years old, achieving black belt and started on his 2nd degree. He learned under the expert instruction of Master Kissell. The integrity of this school is top notch. It nourishes the body, mind and soul. This has served him well. He is now 32 years old and extremely successful. Highly recommended.

Amazing Martial Arts Classes! Check it out compared to other styles. The instructors are very kind and knowledgeable. It is a great place to get in shape and learn some awesome stuff! The confidence and Self-discipline I have gained from HapKiDo is priceless.

I've been doing the Cardio Kickboxing classes on and off for the past year and really enjoy it. Instructor Kissel emphasizes that each person works at their own level and be comfortable pushing their individual physical limits and that makes the classes enjoyable for everyone. I don't think I've ever walked out after an hour of boot camp-style cardio and kickboxing instruction without having broken a good sweat. It feels great to get that regular exercise and punch or kick the targets or dummies to get out a bit of stress!!

I enrolled my 8 year old son in the academy and have closely observed his progress and method of instruction practiced here. I am very pleased; Luke Kissell , the senior instructor, is a talented martial artist and teacher. In every class, he spends time with each student in focused instruction, while teaching discipline and martial values with the right balance of patience and kindness that my young son needs. Same for instructor Sean (who teaches on Saturdays). I had previously enrolled my son in another Mt Airy studio and, suffice it to say , not all schools have equal teaching cultures. I strongly recommend this school.

I enrolled my twin 8 year old girls in Choe's Hapkido in Mt. Airy a little over a year ago. My husband and I choose this studio because of the focus on respect, discipline, self defense, and the character of the instructors. My girls have improved in physical coordination, conflict resolution, and overall respect for everyone around them. The instructors are dedicated to making sure our children learn to make good choices in every aspect of their lives. I highly recommend Choe's Hapkido to anyone who is looking for an all encompassing experience physical, mental, and spiritual.
