Took my locomotive there three times. First time fix was good then it stopped working, they said a wire came off. They repaired a second time. Engine stopped working again, said a wire came off again and said it was repaired. Brought it all the way home for the third time (four hours drive time total as this point). Only goes forward, no neutral or reverse and no light anymore. I'm not a driving back a fifth time if they can't get it right. Very disappointed as I trusted they got it right but always make sure they run it "fully" not just just in one manner. This just put a sour taste in my mouth as it was a ton of wasted drive time. They said I could bring it back "again" but not worth it. Also, the headlight did work when I brought it in and now it's gone as I took off the top to look at it. He did say it broke off when he tried to repair it again and he could not repair it. They are getting ready to sell the business so I would not put much faith in the current state if you need repairs done.

I have been coming to this shop for years, including when it was across the street if my memory is right. I will never go back. I will take my money to a store where the rude man behind the counter will not even answer the question on what something costs. The man at train Depot is a Jerk and no one should do business there. Put His grumpy ass in a home and put someone with customer service skills in his place and you will sell trains.

I have been here several times. The old man behind the counter was rude and refused to even answer my questions of how much he was charging for the passenger cars. He did not answer. Just ignored me. These people obviously don't care for the customer. Shop on Ebay, do not go here. This old grump can go under if he wants to be this rude all the time.

I visited this store for the first time last weekend and they were awesome! I was originally gonna switch to HO but when I saw a CSX o gauge Lionel loco on the o gauge rack, I stayed with O gauge and they helped me out with planning a yard with suggesting two manual right hand switches and extra track for the yard. Thank you Train Depot! A must-have-to visit store located in iconic downtown Mount Airy Maryland! Edit: 2/21/23: I recently bought some cars, and some track for my new engines (All MTH as they recommended). One of my friends went to buy tubular track for his 1950s trains that THEY RECENTLY FIXED! The guy there was nasty to him and apparently gave smart answers to me a couple times. I didnt care but my friend really did and that was the only time he shopped there. Just for tubular track and a couple of his cars a couple weeks back from when he got the track.
