My son has been at Pine Village for over a year and absolutely loves it. He has learned so much Spanish in such a short time, and adores his friends and teachers. The staff has been really supportive and flexible. We were nervous about finding parking for pick up/drop off but it's never been a problem. We are only leaving Pine Village because we are moving  and we are going to miss it so much. We are so grateful to have found such a supportive, educational and affordable school to send our son. Note - This location is now at 57 South Street in JP.

The school was great in the first years and I seen the potential in the system as well as my oldest sons abilities in speaking & understanding Spanish. I often turned to my son in his later years at the school when I myself would forget how to say something in Spanish. With that said there was always a high turn over in teaching staff which I found odd. Often it would happen without a warning. Luckily my oldest son seemed to have the teachers we were often fond of. The school moved from its first location but both had the same frustrating parking issues making "drop offs" and "pick ups" a brutal nightmare. The management of the school leaves lots to be desired. So much so you end up giving up on concerns often left open ended. Some issues were dealt with here and there but others were often left alone. They have many locations and it feels that's the priority of the organization rather than quality. I can't speak for all locations but this one is one I would not have in my top choice if I had to do it again. When your child is preparing to head to kindergarten, you want them to feel confident and prepared and I just didn't feel that way the 2nd time around. With the cost of this school you'd expect the best for your child but it left lots to be desired in my opinion.

My 2-year-old daughter goes to Pine Village, and we feel so lucky to have found this place. My favorite time of day is when I go to pick her up and I sneak a peek at her in the classroom. She is always having a great time-- singing and dancing during circle time, being read to, or exploring the classroom. They have a lovely shaded playground right outside as well. Her teachers are one-in-a-million. They complement each other perfectly-- one is more soft-spoken and maternal, and the other is more boisterous and fun-loving. Together, they are a perfect combination for my daughter. They are so affectionate with her and observant about her, and I know they truly care for her. They pay close attention to her development and spend time discussing it with me at a twice-yearly parent-teacher conference. They are patient and supportive around all issues that come up with toddlers: potty-training, tantrums, biting, etc. What I really love about Pine Village is that the staff puts so much heart into everything they do. They have special events-- such as when they turned the classroom into a science fair, complete with a homemade planetarium and spacesuit for the children to wear. They had Art Gallery night, and a multicultural show where each classroom learned a dance from a different country. I haven't even discussed the Spanish immersion, which is the icing on the cake! I was reading her Pete the Cat the other day, and she started to narrate the book for me in Spanish: "Un gato que se llama Pete . . ." As you can tell, we are thrilled with Pine Village!

Since starting last fall, my daughter has thrived at Pine Village. Her social skills have developed exponentially, and she now considers it very important to be kind and compassionate to others.  She has gained a fascination for Spanish and is beginning to show a real aptitude for language. This is evident in her curiosity about English vocabulary and usage as well. When she first started at Pine Village, there was a series of incidents involving aggressive behavior by another student. Not only did the staff go out of their way to find developmentally appropriate ways to help that student take ownership of his/her emotions and actions, the warmth and understanding of the teachers and director helped my daughter feel safe and comfortable in an unfamiliar environment.  I sincerely believe that the socialization and encouragement she has received at Pine Village has largely contributed to the curious and kind human being my daughter is today. She and I are both looking forward to returning to Pine Village in the fall.
