The Framingham MBTA Station is a long, narrow swath of tracks and platforms. There's a special raised area, a small platform on a platform, at one end where you'll usually want to perch to prepare for train boarding. As far as I can see, there is no ticket machine here, so you can pay aboard the train without penalty. I downloaded some MBTA app that allows me to buy and activate tickets online. This way I can get all the discounts available to beasts of my kind. The conductor will come along to scan the code on your activated ticket. There's a Mexican grocery store across the street from the Framingham station. I went in there looking for a little fruit turnover pie. These Hostess-like pastries are sold everywhere in Mexico, but not at this store. There are many other things here, including fried birds, apparently chicken, and this seems to be very popular. There's a bridge over the tracks here. And yes, there's an elevator on each side. This elevator in summer is very hot inside. Signs in these elevator cars warn that if you screw with an elevator, it'll probably get stuck. You'd not be able to get out for hours, if indeed anybody noticed you were stuck. There's no phone built into the cars. You'd bake to death in these elevators. Maybe it's best to take the stairs. If you do and have a heart attack, somebody will notice and possibly they'd call 911. If not, at least you won't bake as you lie dying. For an interesting discussion of pedestrian bridges and bridges with elevators in the 1950s, see the relevant article and photos in a July 2021 edition of El Universal, the Mxico City daily. If you can't find it, send me an email.
