Tried to get an issue resolved with an agent there. Weeks went by with no resolution. He had promised to email me on a certain date. Never got any email from him. Sent a complaint email to him directly and also got no reply, no apology, nothing. Phoned the branch Manager and also no apology. Sent a letter to the bank's customer service department and guess what...also no response whatsoever. They've made it quite clear how important customer service is to them. I'd be out of a job if I treated my customers this way. Update: They have ended their "Extra 20" checking account which I've been in for about 1 year, something they promoted as not being a temporary thing like other banks do. So much for that. I'm outta here, Santander!

For me to leave a negative review on a Google business listing, is not something I would normally do, unlless I have a very good reason, and in this case I felt compelled to do so. I am adding a poor review at this location, because they most definitely need to clean up their act with customer service. Actually,, it wouldn't be a bad idea to terminate their current staff, and hire new people. I was working in Hingham, and found it convenient to stop at this location. I was in just yesterday afternoon 12 /21/23 - for a simple transaction, and this woman teller did see me, not busy with any customers, she clearly acknowledged my presence, full eye contact with me, but saying nothing, blatantly ignoring me. The bank manager was in his office with the door open, on his computer, also acknowledging my presence without a word. I stood there patiently waiting for 10 minutes,, but I was clearly being ignored for whatever reason. So I left, and I will never do business at this location again.
