      The Hotel Marblehead

      Rich with history, The Hotel Marblehead is the perfect place to escape for your coastal New England getaway. The Victorian home that is now our boutique Marblehead hotel was originally built by J.P. Harris in 1871, who died shortly after the construction completion. On July 10, 1872 the house was sold to Mr. Otis Roberts, a prominent shoe box manufacturer, and the home continued to change hands including to a leather merchant (Elbridge Gerry Brown and his wife Caroline) in 1880 and a local attorney (Orren Fairfield) and his wife in 1911, and then to Emma J. Fairfield in 1917.

      image Boutique hotel wrapped in a 1871 Victorian home. Tastefully appointed with modern furniture and nautical accents. Steps from The Mariner (great for visiting relatives). Within driving distance to the Old Towne and coast. Light breakfast included. Delicious coffee.

      image Had the most magical experience at the hotel Marblehead! Beautiful 3 story building built in the late 1800's has been updated. Staff is fantastic and so accommodating! They made my trip so easy and memorable! I will definitely be back!

      image We really enjoyed our stay here. It has a lot of character but is beautifully renovated and exceptionally clean. Breakfast and hospitality were excellent. We live nearby and just stayed to get away from home reno but wont hesitate to recommend to others!

      image Generally comfortable though mattress was a bit soft. Breakfast good. Personnel helpful and friendly. Bathroom needs shower mat and grab bar. Shower also needs longer shower curtain. Room needs more than one small mirror over bathroom sink. Thermostat is an old analog version, not something that can be digitally controlled.
