Gentle Giraffes seems like a good miss. After applying , a women named Krista claimed after 30 yrs of nanny experience and being a lifecoach it wasn't enough to be a postpartum doula/parent education. Even with a bachelor's degree and some Master level courses. I believe these Newborn specialists training programs are money makers. Unless you have yrs. of hands on training and even than no one person is a specialist / expert. Kendra

I hired Gentle Giraffes for at home help after giving birth.  My experience was poor for a few reasons: - Their requirement for full payment up front and their no refund policy were far more restrictive than other newborn care providers. - 3 hours before the provider was due to show up she told me she had a sore throat and headache, so I chose to cancel. No back up was offered and she did not respond to any of my messages until 4 days later. When she did finally respond, her tone implied that she was prepared to show up sick, and that her notifying me of said symptoms was a favor to me. That has not been my experience with other providers. - I was told the response was late because the provider was busy running her business and servicing her clients. This was after I had already paid for her services in full and was already trying to work around her schedule. - By the time the provider responded back to me she was fully booked up and unavailable until a month later. When asked about virtual sessions as an alternative, she offered to charge me $50 an hour for the virtual sessions vs. the $25 an hour listed as a package on her website, and was firm in saying that was the best alternative she could do. I will not be hiring them again.
