Patients are made aware when they begin treatment that we ask for 24 hour notice for cancellations. They are also made aware that we have a 24 hour answering service available to them for emergencies or emergency cancellations. We are aware that sometimes emergencies occur preventing people from giving full notice. Our office staff is always instructed to have the client speak directly with their therapist about their circumstances. No one has ever immediately been turned away from treatment for being ill. In over 11 years we have never heard of complaints from clients that our support staff has told them to get a new therapist or hung up on them. However, unfortunately clients who miss appointments repeatedly may be told we can no longer provide services to them.
