We engaged this company to install a drain system in our basement. Unfortunately, right from the outset, all of their employees, from the salesperson to the owner, displayed a consistently poor attitude. Despite these red flags, we proceeded with them based on their local reputation, hoping they would fulfill their duties competently, safely and legally. Upon making our deposit, they unexpectedly presented us with a lengthy list of additional tasks we were expected to handle ourselves. For instance, we were required to hire a plumber to disconnect the gas dryer and washer and an electrician to install an outlet for the sump pump. When we raised our concerns with the company, the individual who answered the phone, a senior lady, insisted that these tasks were never included in their project scope, citing their supposed 40 years of experience. For other projects, we enlisted the services of different companies, which in turn arranged for the necessary electricians, plumbers, and other required personnel. The night before the scheduled work, we checked the town's website to verify if a work permit had been obtained for the project, only to find none. The next morning, upon the crew's arrival, we called the company again to inquire about the permit. The same senior lady claimed that NO PERMIT WAS NECESSARY, equating it to plumbing and electrical work, which we knew was incorrect and concerning, especially considering the nature of the planned construction activities. When we requested written confirmation via email regarding the permit exemption, the senior lady adamantly refused, falling back on her familiar refrain of "we've done this for 40 years." Eventually, she transferred our call to the owner, who initially agreed to provide written confirmation but abruptly rescinded the offer upon learning of our intention to verify with the town inspector. This sudden withdrawal ultimately led us to terminate our agreement with the company. It's essential for regulatory measures to be enforced if a company or industry carries out work without the required permit, especially when such permits are necessary. The town should enforce mandates requiring these companies or industries to obtain permits to ensure adherence to safety and legal standards, regardless of their operational history. Protect your property by not succumbing to deceitful practices and allowing work without permits. Search google and you would find horror stories about the work done without town permit where a homeowner faced consequences for not obtaining a permit. It's the homeowner's responsibility to ensure that companies obtain the necessary permits from the town for any work conducted on their property. I checked with my town and town confirmed that permit is needed. Town referred the code 780-CMR Section-105 B-Dry exhibit a bullying attitude, seemingly believing they hold a monopoly on this type of work. However, I've discovered other companies offering similar services at significantly lower prices. Please don't be swayed by their "40 years" claim and consider exploring other options for relatively cheaper, safe, legal, and compliant work. Finally, when you contact them, they consistently emphasize the scarcity of available appointments to convey their importance and business. However, after making a deposit, sudden cancellations often occur, pushing the work schedule to the following week.

I reached out to B-dry because my basement flooded in the 12/23. Left a message with someone and I was told that my message will be given to Dan one of the co-owners but no one reached out to me. I called them again 3 days after then 2 days but still no one returned my call.

I was very impressed with B Dry. First, the pricing is fair for the work and they do not overcharge like some other companies. The team was thorough, and very clean for such a project, which we really appreciated. The timeline they give are accurate and the team was diligent. While we have only had the system for a few months now, we have had no water in the basement and there has been a considerable amount of rain this year. We are pleased thus far, and would recommend this company highly for their professionalism and overall great work.

I posted a critical review of this business earlier and it is my mistake. I did not deal with this particular business but B-Dry of NH and Maine. My apologies. I will write a review of that business instead.
