Hampton Inn & Suites Springfield/Downtown

Currently staying here, until Friday. I have no choice, as my company booked this room. But lets say, its not worth the money. Sheets are dirty, floor is dirty, lay down on the bed closest to the nightstand, and all I can smell is urine. Hair was all over the bathroom sink. White stains on the bed curtains. Looking forward to checking out Friday, and pray they dont send me back to this place! Guess its to be expected when they have someone living in a bush behind the building as well as local riff raff harassing you outside. I will say, staff have been good. But all this review will do is make someone say some false promises.

The room was very nice and cozy. Appreciated the fridge and microwave in the room. The service was kind as well.

The air conditioner/heater was very loud and whiny and made it difficult to sleep. The tub drained really slow, so you shower with feet submerged in water. But worst of all is that the area is not safe. During the night, ten or so cars got windows smashed in and ransacked. There's signs in parking lot to park at own risk, so clearly this wasn't the first time. I notice another review says there was a stabbing in the lobby 3 weeks ago. So if you want to stay in a safe place, this is not it.

The blonde lady at the front desk had an attitude and was very rude when all I was trying to do was deliver food to one of their customers. So much for hospitality. Also, the fact that you cant gain access to the lobby without a room card should tell you how safe they believe the neighborhood to be. Springfield is a dump. Stay at the Casino or go somewhere else is my suggestion.
