Dear Joanne, it is quite unfortunate that there has been this misunderstanding. It appears that when we spoke directly with your husband during his most recent visit he understood our office policy and our plan to waive any additional fees for his treatments given his financial restrains, but this misunderstanding occurred sometime prior to his next scheduled appointment when he failed to show up or inform us according to the office procedure agreement. I am afraid our repeated attempts to explain the office policy, how any additional charges may be implied only in the case of partial or full denial of the claims, and to reiterate how we typically waive any additional fees that may incur in an effort to assist our clients in continuing their much needed treatments has been without success. What's most disheartening is that my personal attempt as the office manager to directly contact him using the phone number he had provided was futile as well, and the person answering our calls hung up the phone on us and never returned our calls despite leaving several voicemails in a sincere effort to clarify this misunderstanding. We are most disappointed by the fact that we were expecting a positive prognosis for him and were hopeful to help alleviate his suffering as he enjoyed our services, but with no other provider in the area accepting Workers Compensation it is unclear what will happen to his treatments going forward but we are hopeful that he will find a source of relief for his condition. We thrive to find every possible way to help people in our community afford and receive the treatments they need since our primary purpose as a local health office is transparent, affordable patient care and client satisfaction. We naturally leave it up to our clients to experience the quality of our care and decide for themselves to return to us for additional services, and we are saddened by the decision that will keep your husband from receiving his treatments.We take this incidence, your action and accusations, and how it impacts our ratings and reputation in the community, very seriously, as we pride ourselves as a group of honest, local health care providers in pursuit of exceptional personalized holistic care. Furthermore, it will make us reconsider our ability to continue caring for those with Workers Compensation benefits, perhaps negatively impacting the care of numerous individuals like your husband who need our services the most. We have proudly served our community for several years in an honest, relentless effort to provide the highest quality care to the members of our community, who suffer from acute and chronic ailments and enjoy our services especially when they are discouraged by other providers who may not have much else to offer them and relieve their suffering. Being selected as the Best in Worcester for Acupuncture for 2 years in a row is a testament to such efforts. Please note the invoice that he has received for his failure to cancel or reschedule his appointment was in accordance with the signed office procedure agreement and is independent of his benefit status with Workers Compensation, since we under no condition submit any fraudulent claims to insurance companies.
