I went for a TMJ consultation on the recommendation of my dentist and was disappointed with the lack of information and communication. Though my TMJ symptoms are very mild (no pain or disruption to daily activities), the dentist prescribed one of the more intensive treatment options, a “MORA” device I would have to wear for 6 waking hours a day for 9 months, which would make it a challenge to talk while wearing. Maybe that is the right treatment option for me, but it seems extreme, and the point is that there was no explanation of why this was the prescription (or of the severity of my case, results of x-rays, alternative treatments, etc). I was also unhappy that it was not clearly explained to me that this provider was out of network for my insurance and that I would likely be shouldering the entire cost of the treatment myself. I spent $450 for 5 minutes with the dentist and 2 X-rays, all to be told that I would need to spend another $1000+ for further treatment, none of which my insurance company would pay for, given the huge deductible for out of network providers. Very frustrating. The receptionist was friendly and helpful, and I can’t fairly make any negative claims about the actual quality of the care itself. But the inadequate communication on both the treatment plan and the billing practices are enough to compel me to look elsewhere. I can’t recommend.

The most TRUSTED orofacial and TMJ dentist around!! Due to recent retirements, Dr. George E. Maloney is the ONLY orofacial specialist in worcester at this time (He's also the BEST). So, if you have TMJ dysfunction symptoms, such as jaw pain, and you live in central Massachusetts, I highly recommend going to Dr. George E. Maloney!!!

I would highly recommend this dentist office to everyone. Great people very knowledgeable and made me feel comfortable throughout my whole procedure.
