45 year parishioner extremely disappointed and saddened over the mishandling of our longtime pastor emeritus Monsignor Anthony Tocco after his retirement July 2021. His three year absence from our daily lives since then is just not understandable and is truly devastating to many of us. And what was unceremoniously dropped off at our rear door as a replacement? The current pastor lacks charisma, conviction and transparency in performing his job while his choppy, out of breath style of preaching, typically needs the reassurance of an amen from the underwhelmed parishioners that it was uplifting and meaningful. Well it's not. And enough already about what happened around the old dinner table as a child. It's about our salvation and not your anecdotal memories that teaches nothing about our salvation. And talk about transparency, how come there's still no news flash about the new digs on Tiverton across the street by Stonycroft hills golf course. What, no house warming party? And what's this about no more private baptisms at St Hugo? What sheer audacity that an overtanned deacon, just lounging around the parish office after Sunday mass while ease dropping on my private conversation with the baptismal scheduler, has the gall to blurt out to me to find another church. Well I did. And finally, who gave her holiness sister Barb the keys to the kingdom as she stood guard at the door of FatherJoseph's room at the nursing home dictating to visitors not only how long they could stay but also not to touch him as he silently lay there dying. Where did that divine right come from? The human voice and touch more than anything else are what connects us one to another through love. Ps. There are more views of this post than parishioners currently at St Hugo. Think about that for a moment as you fill out your weekly envelope to support this type of behavior.
