We signed up for this scam service back in 2014. When we found that the website was garbage and unusable, I immediately called the company and asked for a refund. This was something they refused to do, though my request was within 30 days of having signed. They said my only choice was to let the membership expire, and not use their services. We never used their services, and just chalked it up to a learning experience with $4000 tuition. Yesterday we received a letter from a collection agency, demanding we pay our back dues for 9 years. This adds insult to injury. These people are criminals. Don't deal with them. They will take your money and give you nothing but grief in return.

We haven't used these people since 2014 and we canceled after the first year. Now they're sending us a bill for six years! We haven't heard anything from them since 2015!

Canceled 5 years ago and now they say we didn't. Sent us a bill for the last 5 years and we haven't used them. Must be hurting for money. This is BS.

Sept. '21 Update! Be aware that this scam is on the move! The company, probably now feeling the heat from their illegal efforts to extort money from customers are switching this company over to a new shell. They've got to keep moving to avoid getting sued again like I noted below. I have received multiple letters now stating the following: "Dear [name]: As your travel service provider, we are required to keep you up to speed on any changes or adjustments to your membership servicing and related fees. For your convenience, these meetings will be held online. Your meeting will include: Part One: -How to servicing transfer to Leisuretime will impact future travel reservations -Updating database information and service agreements that will affect you and your family's future use of benefits. -Leisuretime policies and servicing procedures. Part Two: -Discontinuation of Partial Rate Dues Program -Reviewing and selecting your membership servicing plan. These meeting are very important for all lifetime dues paying members who are currently using or not using the membership. Respectfully, M. Lindley Customer Service Department Call Us Today for Your Appointment: 800-fivefiveseven-9202" As usual, the information is vague to keep the scam going. The BBB has issued multiple updates and warnings on this scam organization as it extends to other shell organizations like Funseekers, Castaway Vacation Club, Sealand Travel Club, and Tradewind Vacations. William Bailey and Christy Spensberger continue their immoral efforts to make money in an unethical manner. More State AGs need to come after these two criminals. Original Review: Island Trader Vacations (ITV) has been attempting, as evidenced by reviews here on Google and under the BBB profile, to extort money from customers who have chosen, or explicitly stated they do not use their service anymore. This business is a scam. The current registered agent for ITV is Christy Spensberger. Christy, along with a William Bailey have had lawsuits brought against them for this organization and other previously different named organizations by the attorneys general in the states of Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and Texas. The judgement in the state of Wisconsin against Travel Services (parent org. of ITV) was over 4.6 million dollars. Their attempts to collect past membership dues are based on false interpretations of the document customers signed, and supported by false claims of "multiple attempts to contact you." Do not pay these people any money if they come after you, it is a scam and based on dubious claims by ITV.
