L’esprit Academy: Canton Campus

DONT GO HERE FOR COSMETOLOGY! I would not recommend you go to school here (canton) for cosmetology. Over the course of a year we lost 13 teachers. They all quit. They did not teach me everything I was told I was going to learn. I even tried talking to the co- ceo or whatever his title was and got nowhere. This school is a joke. I was not prepared properly for the state board practical because the school did have the correct information for the longest time and never informed me anything changed after I graduated. There were 4 different education directors also while I was there and each one of them was just as unhelpful as the last.

Honestly I love my hair stylist and the other girls are super kind, great to be around and supportive to one another. However the staff is a different story. The new instructor or Im assuming she was new her name is Valerie she was so rude while I was there tonight getting my hair done. She was acting as tho she had more important places to be and the fact the a STUDENT was running a little long with a hair treatment, she just was plain rude. She made it feel like since I asked to have the hair cut i received changed a little I was causing her to miss something important just because it was getting close to the 9:30pm cut off time. I know that I am coming to a school so I know things might take a little longer than expected but if an instructor is acting that way it makes me sad. If this was the first time I had come in and I saw a instructor yelling at the students to hurry up, that she needs to leave, to be standing with her hand on her hip glaring between myself and my stylist and the clock I dont think I would ever come back. The only reason I rebooked was because I of my stylist apologizing for someone elses actions. I really hope the school can make some changes because its not fair to those stylists or clients that come in.

Unfortunately, my daughter and I did not have a good experience at L'esprit's Canton location Wednesday night. It started off with us finding out that our initial student stylist that we scheduled with had graduated. Im not sure why she was still in the system to schedule appointments. I had to wait 30 minutes for another stylist to service my 8-year old daughter. We were scheduled for a wash, blow dry and thermal press; however, I had to defer the thermal press because it literally took the student over an hour to blow dry my daughters hair. As an adult, my hair is longer and thicker but it has never taken over hour to blow dry. I understand these are students learning , but it should not take 1.5 hours to blow dry hair. None of the instructors took note that this student needed guidance & assistance. I hope this review helps the school assess the skill sets of their students and the services they offer at the student salon. Clearly their students are not prepared to work on the public or textured hair.

I would recommend coming for a basic hair dye, but if you want a haircut that is more precise I would not go here. In the past, I have had a basic haircut without complaint. I came in for a trim for my bob and the student cut the long hair that framed my face. Now I have to grow it out again. The educator did damage control but I still lost a lot of length. This added 45 minutes to my morning routine.
