I called the Keyme in Canton about replacing missing car keys. They said their "technician" would contact me. I proceeded to get calls from multiple technicians from various locksmith companies that must be affiliated with Keyme. Didn't know that's what I was signing up for. The Keyme Website says to use their service for programming a replacement key fob, since dealerships charge a high variable price. Keyme's website claimed that they charge a low flat rate. What I found from the MANY technicians that called me was a very similar price to the dealership that seemed dependent on the vehicle and key type, as well as the particular technician/business you end up going with after multiple locksmiths call you. There is no "low flat rate"from Keyme, otherwise they (Keyme) could just tell you that rate when you first call. So not different from the dealership at all, and in some ways, worse. Keyme is simply a service that sends out your information to multiple local locksmiths that all call you and want to give you quotes. They don't actually do any work. And the quotes, in this case, were not much different from the dealership. So many people call you that it's hard to keep them all straight and it's annoying to have to go through the same info with each one. Keyme is also adding the cost of coming out to your location to the price. For "convenience". I'd personally rather take the lower price and go somewhere to get the job done, but YMMV.
