Banyan Montessori Academy - Canton, Michigan

Great Montessori school! My toddler really enjoyed attending the school and participating in the Montessori style activities planned by the teachers. He also developed a trusting relationship with the caregivers and teachers! Entire staff is diligent and follows covid protocols, which was incredibly helpful as the school was never shut down due to covid spread during our time there. Great school overall!

I did not have a good experience in this location. I was guided by the comments here, yet unfortunately our experience was very bad. From not being able to have healthy communication with the teacher (I never knew who the teacher of my kid was) to understand how my kid day had been, to including injuries in playground that were missed; not obtaining communication by email to update of the daily activities (Eg. like primerose with procare), not being allowed to talk to other parents and approach them to say thank you or give birthday invitations. My son expressing about being placed inside a room refered to as "the baby room" and I never notified or made aware on time if there were any situations that required my attention. My son had nightmares and approaching the school to be able to speak with the teacher to better understand was rejected asking me to just limit communication to written and I could not be asking daily for infomation based in my concerns. The playground without locks. Anyway, my expectation was set too high probably based in comments here left that I read when deciding what school to choose from my trilingual son, and sadly my experience was very disappointing. The lady in the moring was very nice and helpful though, it was always a pleasure when she welcomed us in the mornings offered direction and advise when I had questions about where to leave things etc, due we were not given orientation prior enrollment.

We had an amazing experience with Banyan Montessori School. We sent both our children there and we were extremely pleased with the staff, teachings, and gentle guidance crucial to children at this young age. Highly recommend!

We were at Banyan for 6 months, and our son really enjoyed the experience. The teachers were so welcoming and patient with us as this was all of our first time in school. He learned so much in his time there we were surprised. The teachers are kind and caring about everything. They have great learning opportunities for parents as well. Their cleaning protocols ensured no one ever got COVID which is amazing with any institution especially a boutique one like this. We also cant thank Ms. Shiva enough. Knowing we didnt have family in the area when our baby was born she went above and beyond to help us out personally. Her caring gratitude is what makes the school amazing. We hope to be back with our youngest in the future.

My kid enjoyed her tenure here and she misses all the fun she had. Thanks to Shiva and other teachers for all the love and care they had on her.
