Easter Weekend: We had technical issue Eddie was very nice and tried really hard to resolve our issue. No avail. Lobby Restaurant staff was over worked, and understaffed the entire weekend, yet managed to be pleasant and professional while going down like the Titanic. Manager Jared was the worst. He attemted to give me a 10.00 coupon for myself and my husband to compensate. 10.00 for 2 people. And his disposition did reflect Marriott culture. 1 star for Jared. 4 stars for the rest of the staff. Rooms: Clean and comfortable. We could not stream on tv despite trying for hours. Hotel internet couldn't handle it. Food & drinks: Sticky wings are amazing.

We had a room block here for our wedding a few weeks ago and had a terrible experience! I have handicapped family members that needed a handicapped room and booked a room in our block requesting such. I felt strung along for weeks leading up to our wedding as I clearly communicated that if they could not be guaranteed a handicapped room we needed to know so they could look elsewhere. Every single person from the Marriott at the Renaissance Center that I spoke with told me my request had been "handled", but in the reservation portal the room was never marked as handicapped (only that a request had been made). The day before the cancellation window ended (weeks after booking) my family member's reservation had a note placed on it that their request for a handicapped room could not be honored. No call, no email to either them or me, after WEEKS of us asking if they could be accommodated. It really looks like this was left until the last minute in hopes that my family would be unable to cancel and stuck paying for a room they would be unable to use. Planning a wedding is stressful and time consuming, and the team at the Marriott at the Ren Cen did nothing but give me more to stress about. They did not ease my concerns or assist me in any manner as I repeatedly attempted to resolve the issue. All that needed to be said was "we are sorry we cannot make a guarantee, it would be better for you to seek a reservation elsewhere," rather than dragging me and my family along for almost an entire month before the wedding. In the end, they cancelled their reservation anyway so the Ren Cen gained nothing except for this 1 star review! A little transparency and respect for my time would have gone a long way! I would not recommend using this hotel as a wedding block for anyone who has family in need of a handicap room or special assistance, as it will be an absolute nightmare trying to ensure they receive the care they need. The lack of commitment to accessibility is horrific here.
