Henry Ford Medical Center - Detroit Northwest

Made me wait 7 hours after being transferred from Fairlane for an emergency and refused treatment. The plastic surgeon team asked extremely personal and inappropriate questions about my family that had NOTHING to do with the treatment as well as lied that I had an appointment made for the next day that was scheduled a week before, when I called them out on that they admitted that they just now went to make it. I am being charged tremendously for all these transfers and not getting the simple stitch removal I initially came for. I already moved 70% of them myself at home so what gives? The medical neglect on them has caused skin to grow over the stitches yet they still delay. I could not fathom that I would've been better off removing my own surgical stitches at home a week ago just because the health care here is so garbage. The nurses are extremely kind and respectful however.

I usually get good care at Henry Ford but today made me want to reevaluate. I appeared for labs for my pregnancy and was assisted by a lovely nurse named Hannah. However, there was another nurse there that was rude, condescending, and kept making snide remarks as Hannah was trying to assist me. I was focusing on not regurgitating all over their floor and here she was making it harder to contain my composure. When working in public health it is not the patients fault if you are tired, agitated, or whatever. Its 8am. There is absolutely NO reason whatsoever to be rude. I did not feel welcomed and will not be coming back to this location for any of my care.

I have never had a problem with any other Henry Ford facility in over twenty five years except for last week at this clinic. Their doctors, nurses and support staff are always kind, polite, patient and compassionate! I would have given HF five stars but a surprisingly rude phlebotomist at this location changed that! I had a surprisingly negative experience at the Henry Ford Lab on West Outer Drive and Southfield in Detroit. I needed to take a PSA at the lab as per my doctors request. So, I went last Thursday. The lady at the front desk of the lab was very nice and polite as Ive come to be accustom to dealing with Henry Ford hospital and clinics. When it came time for the phlebotomist to take my blood, she had a problem finding it in my left arm. I was not alarmed, but did not enjoy the persistent digging so I suggested that she use my right arm. The woman got so upset and remarked that Im treating her like she doesnt know what shes doing. I told her that I am sure she knows what shes doing, but that I would simply rather you take the blood from my right arm rather than continue digging into my left arm. But that did not satisfy her. She continued on with a very disrespectful attitude toward me and repeatedly said Im acting like she doesnt know what shes doing; so, I just remained quiet knowing there was no appeasing her. Ive been getting tests from Henry Ford clinics and hospitals and labs for well over 25 years. My results have always come back through my chart in the last 10 to 15 years either the same day or the next day. But today is Monday my urologist and I have been waiting on that test since last week Thursday and he thinks its very odd that its still in processing mode. I must say I suspect this woman with the nasty attitude miss-handled my blood sample as a means of retaliation. This isnt right. Henry Ford Hospital and affiliated clinics are better than this! I was polite, calm and respectful the whole time and I should have been treated that same way. I truly hope this is not a sign of things to come for such an otherwise organization of excellence!
