Visited from 2/8 to 2/11, for a early Valentines Day weekend. I understand they are undergoing construction, but there was literal red tape on the smoke detector in the room (with a hole in the wall next to it), a panel falling off the wall in the bathroom, and both my partner and I had reactions to whatever cleaning chemical they use in the in-room jacuzzi. Beyond all of the issues with the sub par room and issues with the staff (not going into it here), the hotel manager called me about my negative reviews (the Google one has been deleted twice now) offering to add points to my marriot account for a 3 night stay, but never did. Not only was the stay subpar, the management is a joke.
Noteworthy details: Literally any other hotel will be better.

There was absolutely nothing impressive about this hotel. Specifically booked it because of pool and hot tub. Called day before arriving to make sure both were open. Was told yes. Upon arrival both were closed. In addition the hotel was under renovation so pounding and banging early in the morning. No ice machine working except on 2nd and 3rd floor but entire 2nd floor and some of 3rd was closed for renovation. Staff friendly but incredibly unhelpful. Nothing given for inconvenience. Would not recommend and suprised Mariott puts there name on it.

Small and dirty hotel rooms with terrible customer service.
Staff were very nasty and unprofessional.
There are cleaner and more civilized Marriott properties in metro Detroit.

Hotel is still under construction all of second level. Beautiful modern room and shower. Work out area and pool are very convenient despite the aged equipment and two person capacity.
Rooms: Small but beautifully designed from the windows to the bathrooms.
Nearby activities: Small restaurants and eateries nearby.
Safety: Safety was a major issue for me, which this hotel provided, key entry to get in building, and room and 2 extra locks to secure once inside and creepy security / staff following you around.
