Garrett was honest with me, which I appreciate, he could have attempted to sell me a lot of repairs but instead recommended that my guitar was not worth the effort.

Garrett is awesome. I brought him my Peavy T-40 Bass after I had an unfortunate experience with a different shop which had improperly shimmed and set up my Bass. I originally thought the truss rod may be damaged because the strings were high enough to fly 747 under so I took it to Garrett. The Peavy T-40 has a neck tilt feature that he not only knew about but was familiar with. I popped by and he removed the bad shim job, adjusted the truss rod and neck tilt and he did it in front of me without any sleight of hand. I was happy enough that I asked him to re-fret as they were well worn beyond dressing and he had the job completed in just a few days. It plays like it would have come straight off the factory in the 80s. I am not letting anyone other than Garrett touch it from now on.

Overall great service and instrument turn around time. I took 2 guitars to Garrett for neck/fret and setup work and the result was top notch (The overall action and playability was vastly improved). I highly recommend Garrett at Pilgrim Instrument Repair for any of your guitar needs.

Called Garret on a Tuesday expecting my used acoustic guitar set up to take at least a week. He had me bring it Friday and had it complete within an hour. Great fast service and fantastic work. The action is now perfect I highly recommend Garret to any of my musician friends.
