    Very glad we chose Sunrise of Cascade when the time came to make this level of decision. As a family of conscientious and loving nurses, teachers and business minded professionals...my mother knew she was in very good hands with us, alone. Sunrise has been completely reassuring of this expectation for our mom, as well as for us.

    I would not work here at all if I were you. They treat staff very differently Jana told me they require every caregiver to work every other weekend and some caregivers get special treatment and don't work at weekends at all. When I started their Cassie and Jana said they can work with my learning disability turns out I got let go cause i dont meet up to their standards and Cassie and Jana told me that everything was going good with me working their turns out they lied to me I had a doctors note stating I was sick and they pulled a excuse to let me go. This place is very unprofessional especially the management . The only management that was nice to me was Brooke from hr even so Jana and Cassie should have handled how they treated me differently meaning they have made several rude remarks in the office they were sitting in when they thought I was listening or in front of me . They both were not very accommodating to me or not listening to my needs to help me for work . Its sad I really thought it was going to work out but Cassie and Jana need to be out of management! I told them I have a very important doctors appointment on a day I had to work before I started working for them and Cassie practically tried to force me to stay. Cassie and Jana also have given me attitude about almost everything.Cassie said that could schedule another training day on the phone and rubbed her phone in my face saying this is what you said on text even though she said different on the phone call that day I was on my own and having a hard time doing my job duties . Plus Cassie will call and text you and not expect you to text back or call during your shift but they will continually call and text you instead of coming to find you during the shift like they should do instead of sitting on their phones in the office and talking on their phones making calls and Cassie had her friends kid in her office or her kid which is unprofessional as a manager the management does not help out on the floor when we are extremely short the only that helps is Kurt the maintenance man . This place is not a good place .

    My wife was at Sunrise Senior Living in the Cascade area Grand Rapids, MI for three weeks so I could have my right eye cataract surgery done. They promised to take care of my wife, who needs help in a hurry. They took our money, $9,900.00, and never kept promises they made. My wife sat in wet Depends for at least an hour many times with no response and in diarrhea for at least an hour many times with no response. No one answered the telephone when I called. My wifes medications were lost. They tried to put a medicated cream on my wife which was prescribed for someone else. The staff used other residents creams on my wife. Medications were ordered when we brought those meds in. Medications were not given at the right time causing dangerous side effects. There was confusion every day on my wifes meds. The head nurse changed the dosage on many meds so I called my wifes doctor to see if they changed the dosage. Dr. B did not. When we arrived, the facility never set up a bowel program. My wife developed a hemorrhoid. My wife was in pain and constipated so we had to admit her to Trinity Health Hospital. Medication was prescribed by my wifes doctor but it was used twice. The medication was to be used for 7 days. When my wife was given a shower using a Hoyer lift, a strap released and my wife fell down on a chair. The Hoyer bar hit her in the mouth. She was OK. No incident report was made. No one checked on my wife to see if she was hurt? After the shower, staff set my wife on the floor bare-naked so they could change the sheets. There was no communication between the director, nurse, manager and staff and when I contacted the Executive Director and the Director of Operations, nothing changed. This place was understaffed with no weekend help and extremely disorganized and dysfunctional. Their issues caused a dangerous situation every day for my wife.
