    When I tried to cancel my own single policy after nearly 1.5 years, I receivedso much unprofessional push back. They wanted to know why, what company, and what my new premium was. I told them, and then they told me that I was not receivinga multi-auto discount, which was a considerable amount. After applying that discount and renewal discount, their new premium basically matched my new company's premium. I did not know a renewal discount existed because I had not received one before. The lady I spoke to was pushy and could not understand why I would want to switch companies to pay a little more (my new policy includes renter's insurance). She said the reason I wasn't getting this multi-auto discount is because the system did not recognize that another policy holder's vehicle was at my address. When I asked why it wasn't flagged at my policy renewal, shesaid it was because they have thousands of renewals and cannot personally go through each one. This went unnoticed for almost 1.5 years. I told them I plan on moving soon so I would no longer be eligible for the multi-auto discount, then she had the guts to ask for my new address to give me an updated quote. Because of this, Farm Bureauhas lost me and my household as customers after 4+ years. I am very displeased with their lack of professionalism about me wanting to leave as a customer, and finding out I was over paying for car insurance for 1.5 years. If they want to retain customers, they should provide them with the best service while they are still customers; not when they want to leave.
