Dr. James A. Burtka, DO

Dr. Burtka is absolutely amazing, but his receptionists are horrible to try to work with - you cannot get through a question or sentence without them rudely interrupting and making you feel like an absolute bother. It's disheartening that their behavior has been consistent enough for long enough for there to be several reviews of this nature, especially given the level of professionalism and care that Dr. Burtka himself, does bring to the practice. God forbid a patient has a question, or needs the assistance of the receptionist at the office - you will not be met with empathy or respect in the face of their front desk.

My husband and I love Dr. Burtka but his staff is making it harder and harder to go back, really thinking about changing Dr. just because of his staff. They are very rude to the point that you hate calling for anything let alone go into the office.

Love Dr. Burtka, but his staff is so rude and unprofessional. Can't even answer a phone without attitude. Who answers a Doctor's office phone "hello, hello"?! I thought I had the wrong number. Also, last time I was in the office about 2 weeks ago, the front receptionist and the phlebotomist were discussing a diabetic patients medications and treatments and used her full name while discussing it! Apparently, this patient was going in for surgery and needed documents faxed to the surgeon. The receptionist also spent a nice amount of time complaining about having to do the faxing as I just waited to be signed out. None of this information should have been discussed within earshot of other patients. They must have never heard of HIPAA. So unethical.
