Proud Lake Recreation Area

Its always super fantastic to have nothing but beautiful, pristine nature nearby. The proud lake recreation area is less than five minutes from my house and my kids were growing up. We would go through there often sometimes just to relax and get away from the traffic of the nearby roads other times to launch our canoe and take it down the river. As a state park, this place is beautifully well-maintained and feels like a tiny bit of northern Michigan right in suburban Detroit. Its a great place to take your family just to get away and picnic or for bigger events, you can rent some of their sheltersand have big parties or even company events

Great hiking trails, and quality fishing too! We love hiking on the Chief Pontiac Trail. Some of the best parts are in this section.

Great trails for hiking! Very scenic, decent elevation. I have been hiking them for training.
