I have been meaning to leave this review for a long time! My mom has lived at Parkshore in Independent Living since January 2013. Management here is 110% dedicated to high quality and professionalism in delivery of services and meeting residents' needs. There are no corners cut, staff is incredibly great, and the facility is wonderfully maintained with improvements thoughtfully made periodically. When the March 2020 COVID emergency struck, communications were made to all to ensure that changes in protocols and visitation were explained and updates regularly provided. While my mom is no longer qualified for independent living (we have brought in a live-in aide), we are thrilled with the maintenance of her apartment and care still shown to us in her changed circumstances. I would be happy to be a reference for them any time and am grateful we choose Parkshore when we did!

Finally found a senior living place that my father liked. At least, I thought so. They did not provide any initial welcome and walk through protocol for signing up for meals, activities, etc. We also chose this site because it had services available when the time came to needing them. Just months after moving in, the services were discontinued. My Dad is moving out.

We had a very pleasant experience on our tour with Mary Richards. She was extremely knowledgeable and so friendly and showed us everything and we toured a couple of apartments. She is such a good person to have in this job, too bad she is retiring! But good luck to you Mary and thanks for that wonderful tour. We think Parkshore is a delightful place.

My parents have been in Parkwood (Memory Care Unit at Parkshore) since June. The experience has been very disappointing. We thought we had vetted the facility thoroughly. They talk a good talk but the experience hasnt matched. Care has been very poor overall. High staff turnover, erratic and inconsistent care, policies that are sub optional at baseline (bathe patients only twice weekly, erratic and inconsistent wake up and bed times with inconsistent and limited assistance with activities of daily living at these times). Within first 3 weeks my mother got COVID from a staff member (mom was fully vaccinated and boosted but there was a small outbreak started by staff who practice poor infection prevention practices including limited masking), lost both of her hearing aids, despite us providing hearing aid clips as requested by Parkshore). We have been asking for a month for mom and dad to get flu shots and new COVID booster but this hasnt been done. There is a COVID outbreak on the memory care floor right now with 12 cases (floor only has 20 beds) and the unit is on lockdown. Yet staff STILL not masking. Also, the programming for residents is extremely limited and we have been told is under development. Finally, residents are nickle and dimed constantly for any staff visits that are not considered routine. (We have asked numerous times what is considered routine but we have not received a straight answer.) My mom entered the facility at 102 lbs and quickly dropped to 93 lbs, which put her underweight. We asked that she be weighed weekly we were supplying Boost already and staff was supposed to be giving it to her. We were charged every time she was weighed. We plan to move mom and dad out as soon as we find a suitable alternative. I caution strongly against Parkshore. I recommend strongly against living in the Memory Care Unit.
