We are so fortunate to have such a knowledgeable resource in our community. Alex is so passionate about prairie restoration and enjoys sharing that with others. My first purchase was in early summer, three perennial plants which more than thrived. Then last fall I bought a flatanxious to see them this coming spring. Looking forward to expanding my native garden with Alexs help!!

Alex's labor of love at Wind Flower Natives is inspiring. Having grown up on the prairie I was familiar with a few of its exquisite plants, the pasque flower and purple prairie clover, for instance. Others I had seen but did not know their names, the wonderful wind flower and prairie smoke, for instance. Then there are the prairie rose and the wood lily, which were prizes that my rancher father would bring home to my mother to place in a vase when he spotted them. I would not have guessed that it would become possible to plant these treasures in my yard to create a beautiful, pollinator friendly alternative to the basic lawn. I plan to start with small plantings and expand on them as I learn. Thank you Alex!

Alex has opened my eyes to the wonders and beauty of the wildflowers that once flourished on the great prairies of the USA. From his very first posts, I was fascinated and have learned so much from him. I live in an apartment so I planted the seedlings that I purchased last spring along a lake, which isnt the perfect location but most of the plants stood up in their new environment. Alex takes great care in offering healthy seedlings and I look forward to seeing what those plantings will do during the 2024 growing season.
