Absolute zero empathy from the leads here. I've worked many places before but this place has got to be the worst by far! I was let go after having called on Monday and Tuesday to my staffing agency and MDI to be off on Wednesday for a memorial for my relative who passed away recently. Shortly after the memorial my agency calls me and says that MDI has decided to end my assignment. It was detailed in my voice-mail that I left that I was going to be absent in order to be at the memorial. So the fact that they let me go after that adds insult to already injury. Also the fact that the "leads" do NOT introduce themselves to you or bother to learn your name, they will however not be shy to tell you to "work faster" "move to this area" "get out of the break room (3-5 minutes before break has ended)" As well as the production lead who's name is Kim. She's gotta be the worst hypocrite of them all. I was working on sorting shoes and the one thing she told us was that we could not take any of the shoes home with us. That's understandable, so why is she sneaking some into a box and taking some for herself as well as some of the other leads? Not to mention my first day she wanted me to leave because my agency had mixed up my orientation day and I was there a day earlier even though my agency didn't bring it to my attention. She also is the main culprit in rushing people out of the break room before break is over, even going as far as moving all the tables, chairs, and microwaves out of the break area so no one was in the break room. We had to spend our break time setting up the break room in order to take our 10 MINUTE BREAK. The 10 minute break in itself should be illegal. Lastly, they employ children there, to which I'm not sure if those kids are through a program or something to be there working as they show up at 11am rather than 7am with most of the rest of the employees. Side note, the images and reviews on this have to be fake. No way people like working here where they don't know your name and treat you like garbage people. HR whoever you are. Do better.
