The food is always delicious here and a great drink menu. Adult friendly for younger kids, not so much. Kid-friendliness: There is no kids menu - if your children are not adventurous eaters - i would not recommend bringing them.

Very cool concept and a visually stunning atmosphere. It was pretty loud and echoey throughout the place, which made it hard to talk to others. Server was extremely accommodating.

My husband and I visited The News Room yesterday, Saturday afternoon for a late lunch (after his conference workshop) As we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly host and a fun environment. There are copies of extra large newspaper articles all over the walls and ceiling. The bar is made to look like a schooner, complete with masts, rigging and portholes. We sat at the bar because we didn't have a lot of time before the next workshop. Unfortunately, the bartender ignored us for a while 'told us to look at the menu' and then walked away again. When she came to take our order, she didn't look at us, couldn't remember my drink order and just kept washing dishes. After the first drink was ordered, she said, 'Is that it?' When I answered, "No, we also want to order food," She said "Well just keep it coming" (while continuing to wash dishes and not look at us). My husband said, "I have a question about how to pronounce this..." and that was the first time she looked at us. We tried to make polite conversation..."you must be busy" but all she did was keep washing dishes and say "Yes, I am." The thing is that we were the only customers on our side of the bar and the restaurant was not full. When the food arrived, another very friendly server delivered it and it was very tasty. When it came time to pay, it even took a while to get our check and she never asked if we wanted dessert or another drink. Overall, we were there for an hour, most of that time we were ignored by the bartender.
