Beautiful area for a bike ride a unique play area for children with timber like climbing equipment (adult supervision highly recommended for kids 10 and under) there is a pathway with a variety of unique musical instruments for kids to play. There is a swimming area on the south east side of the loop (no lifeguard on duty) with a sand beach (open seasonally around weekends). You can walk out 40+ feet with very shallow water, great for little kids wanting to familiarize themselves with water safely. You absolutely need to supervise kids especially those who cannot swim because if you move east or west too far from the sand fill area you will hit an unexpected drop off of more than 5ft. There are many points of access to the waters edge for fishing, no swimming except for the beach area. There are several points to access the area by bicycle. Over by Miracle Mile/Wild bills heading west under the bridge. From the north heading south take the large bike bridge from 7th street near Casey's gas station or the other bridge entrance off the path near the athletic club. West circle drive and 36th heading east with some limited car parking. The north side of 2nd st west of 52 all the way to the fire station with some parking near the play area. Highly recommend this area for family friendly free activities.
