This review really isnt targeted at the IBEW but more the JATC. There is a certain level of procedure to be followed and expected for a union position. However, I feel disappointed that their own procedures are not followed in the application process. In 2021 folks were notified by email of interviews for JATC. Yet at the time the application packet clearly stated the interview letter would be physically mailed. Yes I should have been more vigilant in checking my email, but still disappointed I missed the chance to get a fair shake due to procedural failure on the Unions part. Now they are using GAN Human Resources for the application I would tell anyone applying Letters of Recommendation are REQUIRED and will affect your placement in the queue. Really sad to see them outsource this important task of recruiting. I will continue to try applying, as being a Union electrician is my goal and has been for the last 2 years. Just beware and stay vigilant with the ever changing process and procedures.
