Erta Ale Ethiopian

Visited Erta Ale on a Monday evening, wasn't busy, got seated right away. Cool, laid-back atmosphere. Server was nice and knowledgeable, answered all our questions. My sister ordered the food so I forgot the name of the combo dish we got. The spices and flavors were on point, and the plate was huge. Four of us weren't able to finish it. Definitely worth giving it a try. FYI- metered street parking.

Very welcoming atmosphere as you enter. I ordered the popular vegan platter. It was well presented. All of them were fresh and delicious. They were cooked perfectly retaining the crunch in the vegetables.

Really lovely Ethiopian restaurant. Food was superb. Ethiopian buna after the meal was a special treat.

Honestly the best food in the lowertown area. The owner is fantastic and very accommodating. I would highly suggest the Awaze tibs (beef for me), vegetarian platter, tea, and sambusa. The entire menu is so good and hard to choose but very affordable. The weekend buffets are delicious and the coffee ceremonies are fantastic as well!

The service was excellent, food was little dry (I ordered Kitfo special, and was little dry, not enough butter on it, price was okey. The strange thing was, someone suddenly get in to the restaurant and after sometime, this same person asked me if Ive some cigarettes, I told him I dont have any ; the person was somehow troubled, I was little uncomfortable, though, and little scared. The person finally left the restaurant peacefully, and I was relieved! I think the restaurant needs security personnel, I guess. The lady who served me was so very cautious, as she immediately brought the extra Injera, I needed which I was running out short.
