Vertical Endeavors - St. Paul

This was our first time here. The men who work here are knowledgeable about climbing safety, but spoke impatiently during the check-in process to us and the young boys we brought with us. Im all about speaking directly to children, but patience to newcomers is valuable. There is a kind way to say, Can you please stand to the side? and No running, please! and there is a cranky way. It seemed like an insider club that we clearly did not belong to. It was very unpleasant for me as their adult. Thankfully, the kids were mostly unaware that they were being spoken to disrespectfully.

the holds and climbs feel like they were not put together with care and all around felt clunky. i do like how the auto belay does not help you up the climb but besides that the routs feel incomplete and the rout markers dont help indicate the difficulty very well.

What an amazing time we had! JaRAD was an expert in his craft: climbing skills, 20 plus years at Jtree, climbing culture, how to be a good and conscientious jtree climber - perfect couple days. We had a wide variety of climbing experience levels in our group and Jarad set anchors with climbs that worked for all of us. He was always aware, involved, and on top of our safety. We were well cared for and hope to return soon! Dream come true level experience. Thank you! V.A. Rocks! These guys wrote the book. Literally. OOPS Vertical adventures. [But VE rocks too!]
