Loved this course, used to play it all the time. This year has been horrible, no one is taking care of it. Cement greens, horrible rough all dirt also basically cement, staff not even acknowledging it. Still charge full rates. Im done playing this course

Tough course! Very Hilly. The grass was dry and fairly brown, but the course was a challenging (and tbh refreshing) difference from most other courses in the area. Check it out.

6/23/23 please do not waste your money going to Orono public. Just played and it was in the worst condition I have ever seen on a golf course. Either the people who are suppose to maintain the course have quit, have given up, or the city is cutting their funding. Ive been playing here consistently for the last few years and Ive never seen such negligence on a golf course. 80% of the grass is dead. On multiple greens, you had to putt around every old hole location because theyve shriveled up and sunken into the ground, creating 5-10 obstacles to putt around on most greens. Any upgrades, like new tee boxes they attempted to put in last year, have been given up on. I was in awe with the lack of effort there. Its also surprising since its suppose to be their 100th year anniversary next year, and they spent plenty of money on changing their name and merchandise, but have completely neglected taking care of the course. If youre looking for an easy place to get a tee time, have at it, but dont expect to get your moneys worth compared to any other golf course in the area.

The greens were not good. They were super fast and off grade. As well the greens were abnormally small. There is no flat fairway and the holes are too far for irons and to short for a driver. It is super hilly and even with a golf cart it is exhausting.

Hello, I set the course record 2 years ago. I used to play here every day, including when I did set the course record 2 years ago. Until now, there is some knucklehead working there ruining the experience. I used to love it- especially when I set the course record about two years back. Thats why it only gets 4 stars.
