Discriminates against disabled students. Truancy Officer makes it a personal vendetta against families and students. State and Federal Offices have to intervene. May 2016 board wanting to fine families that want to move out of the district. Can we say a great big DUH? Alcorn School District board members on Monday were split on the controversial issue of students transferring out of the district. Superintendent Larry B. Mitchell said he thinks the school district should take steps to prevent students from leaving the district if there is not a legitimate reason. (Can we wonder about corruption and greed over quality of education?) “It’s not right,” Mitchell asserted. The district loses about $5,300 per student when a child transfers out of the district, Mitchell said. Despite the loss of funding, three school board members said they do not want to stand in the way of parents who choose to take their child out of the district. School Board President Randy Wilbanks said he does not want students to leave the Alcorn School District but said parents know best when it comes to their child’s education. He said he does not think a child can get a better education by leaving the district. But if parents think their child could be better served elsewhere, Wilbanks said he will not interfere with that decision. Wilbanks added that he would rather find out why children leave the district and fix the issue.

Weak- weak educational resources for struggling and special needs children. No math camps or early after school science programs. Banned in the 1960's in most of America- the teachers are still allowed to use corporeal punishment or "paddeling" as the they refereed to it. Over sized classes and an outdated PE program that does not place equality standards on exercise for little girls physical health. Extremely limited art and music exposure for children. Can't believe this school is in America.
