        I spent many hours in this library while attending USM. It's a great library!!! It also contains the de grummond Children's Literature Collection and Museum, which is one of the leading research centers in North America for children's literature. It was founded in 1966. The manuscripts and illustrations from more than 1400 authors and illustrators, and 180,000+ published books dating from 1530 to the present can be found here.

        Great place to research MS history, USM, and children's literature. Large civil rights/freedom summer collections. The de Grummond Children's Literature Collection is one of the largest in the field. Contains manuscripts and illustrations from many authors and illustrators of children and young adult literature. Including John Green, Ezra Jack Keats, The Reys (creators of Curious George), Madeleine L'Engle, and Sydney Hoff.
