If you are looking for a "throw-back to yester-year" type of place, Niangua Hills Resort is your destination! There are several quaint little cabins that place you smack dab in the middle of the 1950s era. The furnishings are period correct and the feel is perfect.
As far as comfort, well, the bed was just right comfortable and the living area was perfect for a couple looking relax and have a quiet place to talk, play games or even watch that new-fangled thing called a TV. The appliances are right of the 50s too...well, at least their look is. They are all brand new "retro" versions of the old ice-box style fridge and tiny 4-burner stove.
Outside, on the site, you are a 1-minute or less walk to the shore of the lake. There is an enclosed fishing house plus a large dock for sunbathing or fishing or simply relaxing with the waves as they brush up against the dock. There is also a new pool with a great sun deck that is fenced to protect young children from falling in accidentally. There is also a General Store for little things we often forget with traveling as well as larger accommodations for wedding parties, big families or just a bunch of friends wanting a weekend away together for fun!
Of course, don't forget your boat, too, as there is a private boat ramp and 24 slips to pull up for the night after a day of fishing or skiing or just relaxing on the water!
This is a fun yet relaxing place for all...you should consider lodging here the next time you come to the Lake of the Ozark's area for sure!
Safety: No worries here at all...unless you can't swim, then just stay out of the water!

We loved this place n it was perfect for our weekend getaway! We was looking for peace and quiet n found it here! The cabin is adorable n the bed was amazing!

We absolutely love this resort. We have been coming here for 20 years. We stayed in cabin 13. It's perfect for a group of people. Bluegill and catfish fishing right of the docks. There is also crappie fishing inside on the docks Amanda and Robbie have their work cut out for them. They are doing an amazing job restoring this vintage 1940s resort. The grounds are clean. Love having a dishwasher. The laundry room has several washers and dryers, comes in handy. The only complaint I have is the new owners or a representative is not available at a moments notice outside of email, text or phone call. They always responded. But it was not very convenient, do to lack of phone service. The cabin are beautifully refurbished, clean. I feel like the new swimming pool was expensive addition, with lots of extra work for the owners. (Not a huge fan, go swimming in the lake) .Robbie was seen working on new concrete steps and replacing lighting on the docks. He was extremely helpful and answered many questions. We never turned the TV on. I hope by the new season of 2024 they replace the blinds in the cabins. You can see right through during the day and at night when a light is on. (Not at all private). We hung a blanket out of our car over the window for privacy.
The no wake cove is perfectly located near 2 gas stations on the lake to fill up your boat. If you don't have a boat it's still a great place to go fishing and swimming with a family. I noticed that all the people staying there looked out for each other. It's only about 10 minutes to Walmart, 5 minutes to gas gas station that sells minnows.
Don't put off a vacation with family, make those memories now.
Our stay was back in September 2023 Looking forward to coming back in 2025. I wish Robbie and Amanda the best of luck owning this gem.

Amanda worked with me to move dates forward one day, but this caused confusion with the Cleaning Service. So, a slight set-back that she and I talked thru. We went to dinner, and she summoned her cleaning crew. They were gone when we came back, and this is the only thing that kept a 5-star rating away. Cabin was good, views were incredible. Everything was a great overall experience, and we will be back, nothing like relaxed Fall camping. This place is an 80-year-old cabin with most of the comforts of home plus all the nature you can handle. I'll be back.

My wife and I booked having no idea really what to expect. This place is so old fashioned we LOVED it. There are not many places left like this to stay at. The cabin was small but perfect for the two of us. The kitchen has everything you need. The bathroom is small but what can you expect for a place built in the 40's. Still does what it is made to do. The bed was very comfy and we slept great. After a full day of hiking this cozy cabin was perfect to come back to. The only issue was that it got cold and the heater doesn't heat the cabin. But they offer little heaters that are perfect to get the place warm.
My wife said it gave her a feeling of being in the old movie The Parent Trap or Dirty Dancing.
Amanda is the hostess with mostess and we will definitely be back.
