DONT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE!!!! First visit was great. The therapist met with me to get info about my son. I mentioned that my son is particular and prefers woman. She stressed building a relationship with Theo in order to get the best out of speech therapy. She also offered signing him up for OT as well. My son is considered non-verbal. Had to wait a few weeks due to insurance and illness. Second visit was with same therapist we went back together and went over the goals again. He went back no problem. Third visit diffrent person came out to get him but didnt have me go back. I didn't think anything of it until the same person brought him out and discussed the goals and sesson. Assuming his therapist was out sick, I brushed it off. Fourth visit a guy came out to get Theo. His demeanor was off, but I ignored it thinking he was taking my son to his therapist. About 10min in I hear my son screaming and sounds like he's hitting his head on the floor ( as he does when he's over stimulated) from the lobby. About 10min of hearIng my son screaming and thumping sounds. I walked to the desk to ask in my son is ok. The lady (older, withh short brown hair) said with attitude " if it becomes a problem they'll bring him out." I said " is his therapist with him because he dosent do well with men" she said "I believe she in with him" I sit back down entersct with my toddler. 8 min pass and he is now hyperventilating and the cry has turned to the one he does when he's hurt. I walk back up to the window to find his therapist going through a file cabinet. I asked "is my son ok?" She said "I'm about to go check on him" confirming she wasn't in session with him even though she is supposed to be building a relationship and trust with him. I said "the cry he's doing he won't calm down from without me." She said "ok I'll go now"and left. I sit ack down trying to shake the bad feeling and trying to convince myself I'm overeating. Focusing on my 2yr old daughter whom is in the waiting room with me. Suddenly his crying becomes muffled. I assumed they moved rooms. Then burst of his crying got louder and then muffled and repeated. Confirming he wasn't moved further away and sounded like someone muffling his crying. I walked back up to the desk after about 7mins of this. I asked this girl "could i go calm my son since he's been crying historically for about 25min." She said "hold on" and got the got the first person I talked to. She seemed irritated I was back up there. I asked again if I could go back to calm my son. She rolled her eyes and said "I can go get the therapist" I said " no, I want to go comfort my son" she said with attitude again "we don't allow parents to go back" in which I told her the session is over and I want my son out here now" she roller her eyes again, left and came back and said with more additude "the therapist is coming out" I asked if my son is coming?" She said " I don't know, I told her you wanted to end the seesion" The therapist and the guy holding my screaming son came out. My son leaping into my arms calmed immediately. They told me he was crying because they were trying harder tasks and she came in to have him do preferred tasks. That he stopped crying once they did that. Catching her in a lie, I called her out. I said "no, he has been crying the entire time." She said " yeah" no follow up just "yeah!" I've had my kids in home therapy since they were 18months old. 6 therapist and say this is questionable. As they same it's important to have a successful session. That often requires a parent to come in and calm their child.most of the therapist record the sessions so the parent can log in an check on their child anytime. It's highly suspicious that they were adamant about keeping me away from my son whom was alone with stragers screaming like he was hurt. I will never know what truly happened in session because my son whom is 4yrs old can't tell me. There is absolutely NO reason for a parent to be prevented from helping their child. Especially when the first two sessions I was back there.

My son has been going to Zenith for a year now. He is in speech and occupation therapy. He was also in physical therapy but graduated that. Being in all 3 that are offered here we have gotten to meet all of the staff members. We absolutely love all the therapist. My son doesn't always feel like he is in the mood to go but they know how to make the kids smile and excited to learn. The office staff is also amazing and helpful. My son has come a long way learning from going here.

Took my son in for his evaluation and loved the head therapist however when our first appointment came around on 6/13 @ 5:45 we pulled in to a empty parking lot and arrived to the office being closed. No call, or reason as to why they closed early considering your website says 6:30pm. Called and left them a voicemail that day and still have yet to hear back from them. We will not be returning. Feel this was very unprofessional considering I had to take off work early to get him there.

Thank you for bringing up your concerns I would of course like to address a few of them. We do have a clinic policy that we work with the children one on one away from their parents (which is also in the clinic policies that you reviewed and signed on the first day). This has gotten us the best results and allows us to help them learn self-calming strategies and to communicate without dependence on anyone else. If the child is not pushed out of their comfort zone, they have no reason to progress; this does not mean that we are cruel or forceful with the children. As for not wanting a male therapist, the evaluating therapist does not remember that request and is sorry that she did not remember. Both of the therapists that saw your child report that he became upset due to being pushed out of his comfort zone by not getting what he wanted and being asked to non-verbally request the toy. What you heard when you thought that the therapist’s were “muffling” your child was them teaching him self-calming. He became quieter when starting to calm then struggled to remain there and so got louder again. Any therapist caught or suspected of what you are implying would be immediately terminated as these children are precious to us and we only want the best. There are many parents that work in this clinic and we understand how it can impact a parent to hear their child cry. As both you and the therapists stated it was about 10 minutes into the session that he started to cry and the session was only 26 minutes long; he was not crying for 25 minutes. Our therapists both report that there were no self-harming actions during the session and all staff members are trained to put the child’s safety first and to redirect them from that type of behavior if it does occur. You interacted with several new staff members that day and we recognize that there is clearly a need to complete additional training with them regarding informing parents what a session will look like and what to expect. We do apologize that we were unable to meet your needs and hope that you find a situation which works better for you.

Diana, I am very sorry! The air conditioning was out on Monday and it was nearly 90* in the building, so we did close early. I have in the computer that we called, but perhaps we had the wrong phone number or misdialed. I am not sure why you would not have gotten a call back and will definitely follow up with the front desk to find out why that was not taken care of. It is absolutely our policy to call back when we have a message.Again, I am very sorry for the misunderstanding. We understand if you don't want to, but do hope that you will give us another chance.
