Im a dentist and this is where I chose to send my wife for her wisdom teeth.

I had a a lady in scrubs jab an irrigation tool into the hole I had my wisdom tooth removed out of. Low on empathy. Said I didnt look in pain. I cried for the first time in a dental setting. Genuine character development for me.

I visited Dr. Smith after a failed surgery with different surgeon. Dr. Smith is very thorough and listens to your concerns and questions while making you feel comfortable with the whole process. He explained everything that was happening in real time. Im a few days post-op and the recovery has been so much easier and less painful than the first surgery. Id highly recommend Dr. Smith and his team!

Absolute horror story: my mother had a molar extracted and cadaver bone inserted into her jawbone by Dr. D. Smith. The nerve block did not work and she felt everything, down to the stitches when they finally finished digging pieces of the molar out of her jaw. My mother, who has a very high pain threshold, is also very sweet and timid, so she assumed that is was just a super painful procedure.
Instead of immediately stopping the procedure and asking her why she was crying and hyperventilating, Dr. Smith firmly reprimanded her several times for "breathing through her mouth." He never stopped or asked how she was doing. He never asked if she was fully numb before beginning the procedure either. As someone who has worked in a dental office, this is wrong on so many levels. My mother left fully traumatized and in extreme pain.
Rule #1 for dentists and doctors: make sure your patient is fully numb before beginning the surgical procedure. This should go without saying.
Raymore Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, how will you make this right?

Definitely give this place an amazing review!! My daughter needed to have a tooth removed ASAP and her dentist referred her to him and they got her in the first day WE was able. My daughter needed sedated and unfortunately had already eaten the first day they called (which was the same day as the referral was sent!!) so she was unable to go that day. Had she not eaten they wouldve worked her in that day (a Friday) but we had to wait til Monday. They took into consideration that my daughter is diabetic and double checked everything. Once we was there he took the time to explain everything even down to recovery. Then the nurse came in to double check all was good. The extraction went smoothly and quickly! With all of that being said, I was already impressed with the staff, dr, efficiency etc The most impressive part being the Dr called that evening (after hours) to check on her. To see how she was, if she was having any pain, how her sugars was running, able to resume insulin etc That just doesnt happen anymore! Ill definitely recommend this office!!
