World Martial Arts Academy of Crestwood

My daughter and I have been having fun going to classes together and discussing and practicing our martial arts together. Everyone has been so welcoming! I have been encouraged by other students of the academy and that has helped my daughter and I become more confident. The instructors are so knowledgeable and work so well with the children. I find the classes so engaging and fun! I recommend World Martial Arts Academy to anyone who is interested!

My son enrolled for classes over four years ago, before the pandemic. Master Winkler, Master Parker, and everyone at World Martial Arts Academy of Crestwood have been exceptional in providing instruction to my son. The instructors expect students to listen and show excellence, but it is a fun environment, with lots of silliness mixed in. My son still loves going twice a week to be a part of their community and practice taekwondo.

We started with just my son after he got invited to a birthday party. I joined a couple months later, and when my daughter turned 5, she joined with my hubby. It's a family friendly place that is quite diverse. There's no body or ability shaming at all. My son is on the Spectrum and Master Winkler and his family (yes, family) work well with bringing out the best in my son and helping my son learn to control himself. They boosted my and my daughter's confidence in ourselves. My hubby , who is over 50, has more flexibility and endurance. There are lock-ins that kids can attend and have fun at. My hubby and I help chaperone the Nerf Wars that our kids attend. We also have students that are on the Leadership Team and help mentor our junior members to make sure they succeed, too. My hubby and I are Leadership Team members and it has helped us grow and learn. There are regular talks about bullying, peer pressure, and drugs that get added into the lessons. Good behavior outside of class is rewarded as well as good grades. Do I see my family stopping anytime soon? Nope. We are all 1st Dan Black Belts working towards 2nd Dan. My 10 year old has a goal of wanting the title of Master Goodheart (4th Dan). Oh, and to compete at the Olympics. Yes, that is possible now.
