I visited Glacier Foot & Ankle last year after years of a mystery ankle pain that comes and goes. The doctor never touched my foot or ankle and immediately recommended some custom carbon fiber orthotics that costs hundreds of dollars. (I already wear molded SuperFeet.) He also recommended I lookup some stretches on YouTube. I paid my $150 fee and left. I spent more time filling out medical forms that I did being examined.

3 hundred dollars to have a couple calluses trimmed! And as far as the bunion and Hammer toe I was told I could just have the toe cut off in the office, will only take 10 minutes! Wasn't impressed

Appointment was at 3:15, we got there early. Was finally taken back to the room at 3:30. Waited till 3:40. Walked to front desk to verify our appointment time. Staff said he's running a little behind. 3:50 rolls around, still no doc. We said we had to leave. Staff said "ok, see you later". No apology. I think it would've gone differently had she took the few seconds to walk back to our room to give us a heads up about having to wait longer, maybe offer us a time to reschedule, or even a simple apology. That would've conveyed the message that 'we understand your time is as valuable as ours and this isn't regular practice'. With that kind of consideration we would've gladly waited because Dr. Ploot is great. But we can't get past being treated like our time means nothing by the front desk staff. I don't like leaving these types of reviews but some people would appreciate the heads up if they have tight schedules. UPDATE: See the reply below by the man himself! Told ya, he's great. We'll be going back Will update the previous rating from 3 to 5. Thanks, Dr. Ploot!

Dr. Ploot was very kind, compassionate, and understanding of my foot concerns. I needed surgery but he did offer all other possible options for proper care. On the surgery date, he was excellent and performed a perfect surgical procedure. I wasnt allowed to put weight on my foot for two months following. The follow up appointments worked around my ability to travel from Libby. I was afraid that I would not be able to walk correctly when it was time but to my surprise the surgery result was excellent. Now, we can address the other issues. I will be having a second surgery with him on my other foot too. Dont hesitate in reaching out to Dr. Ploot and his staff if you have issues with your foot or ankle. He is able to take x-rays in his office and is able to look at your images online in case you had some done somewhere else. The staff is kind and professional and I will definitely continue my care at Glacier Foot and Ankle in Kalispell, Montana.

Hi Clint. I am sorry that you felt shorted with your exam last year. I've reviewed your notes regarding this on / and off chronic condition. Your visit here was during a time of minimal symptoms, a focused exam of the specified area of complaint doesn't take long when non painful. There certainly is an exam documented and the complaint does not seem to be a mystery. At the time no pain meds were needed, no injection was needed. There was no indication of tendon tear / rupture / dysfunction. Further work up / advanced imaging such as MRI were not indicated based on symptoms. You declined an offer for a Physical Therapy consult. You were given a recommendation to consider custom orthotics as the otc insoles SuperFeet you had been using didn't seem to give long term relief. That certainly was a reasonable recommendation and when you left the office you were going to look into possible insurance coverage. Stretching of tight tendons of the ankle is often necessary for pain reduction / relief and YouTube mentioned as a possible video resource, then a patient can watch and perform stretching exercises at home. There is a wealth of posterior chain stretching examples available on YouTube and would seemingly be much more helpful than a Doc simply demonstrating a couple brief stretches in office. I am sorry to hear you felt brushed off or slighted in your exam time last year.I offer you an entirely free return visit to make this good.

$300? what $300 is that? Actually there has been no payment made at all by you, for an entire year $0. Pretty good deal, you've taken this as a freebie. Office visit, consult, x-rays, lesion trim - all 'free'.Tried to give you reasonable information and advice. You were given a possible simple solution for a complaint that did not involve a lengthy recovery at a cost of thousands of dollars. A more complicated approach is not always appropriate or safe depending upon medical history. If you had a complaint or concern, you've had an entire year to contact the office. Yet nothing. Until this 'revenge' 1star review for the office pursuing payment.A 1 star and $0 payment? Sad because this review does not truly reflect upon this office, we work hard and strive to help people to overcome their foot problems. We are able to effectively help the vast majority of patient seen

I apologize, truly Very Sorry. We do value your time and sorry you had to wait and wait. Had a long day, several slower visits this afternoon. This is a 1 doctor solo practice, I can't rush through an appointment with any patient so there can be occasional delays. We do care, the front desk staff is very attentive and does care, She is a kind person. The fault is mine. I hope you'll give the office another chance. I can get you scheduled first patient in morning or right away after lunch so you will not have a similar experience, no waiting on prior appointment. I did not find this name on our schedule, so you would have to call.
