Overall, we had a lovely stay. The consensus was we would rent the home again, should another event in Montana arise. We found Spruce Lodge to be well-equipped, in a convenient location (grocery store just minutes away) and a very comfortable spot to lay our heads. The rustic feel is just right, and helps one relax as soon as they step through the door. The view from the deck is spectacular. We enjoyed that very much. Some of us really enjoyed watching the magpies, which we dont have out east. We also enjoyed the many deer that would visit in the afternoon. The mountain view of Yellowstone? Priceless. The Weber grill on the deck? Very nice touch. When one is on vacation, one does not want to skimp on towels. You made sure we didnt have to. The towel supply seemed excessive at first, but ended up being just right. Sheets were plentiful as well. One of the descriptions we read of Spruce Lodge said it didnt have air conditioning. It does. But the heating/AC system leaves something to be desired. At the very least you should print out specific instructions on how to best operate it. The heat was very hard to figure out. Typically the basement was very cold, upstairs not so much. We found the kitchen to be well equipped for our needs, and our family is a culinary foodie family! We love our food, and the kitchen was perfect for our needs. A few negatives: No television on the main level. That was a big letdown. At the very least put a TV in the kitchen! No working television in the master bedroom suite. DVD only doesnt cut it. We noticed some tase in the grass near the hot tub Trash guy came on Wednesday, not Friday Screen door in entranceway wont lock Light switches labeled strangely. Keep it simple. No outdoor fire pit to utilize the smores kit we paid for. We found that a bit odd. Strings broke on blinds in the loft and master bedroom Dishwasher didnt appear to be installed correctly, as the lower tray can roll out if youre not careful. The bottom line? One of our family members who travels quite a bit was very impressed. And he doesnt impress easily. We felt we got our moneys worth with Spruce Lodge. It was a relaxing home away from home for us, and made our visit just that much nicer.
