There was a key card gym in this complex that I joined a few years ago. It was managed by a big buff dude who's name is escaping me. He approached me on an elliptical one day and offered personal training. I took him up on his offer. Turns out this guy isnt actually a personal trainer (on paper) and was looking for a way to make a quick buck. He strung me along, cancelling several visits via text. The training he did offer me was scattershot, undereducated and unsafe. I paid him a few hundred dollars and only saw him twice. It took him a half our to print up a receipt for his services because ignorantly, I paid him in cash. He kept resisting a receipt until one day I (politely) wouldn't leave his office until he gave me one. He faked it up in a word document and printed it out for me. He admitted to me at this time that he dosent actually have any documentation or qualifications to be a personal trainer. He was aggressive in his demeanor until he realized I wasnt backing down without a receipt. After that day, I left and didnt come back to the gym. I never got the hundreds of dollars I gave him returned to me either, because I was so afraid that he might actually use physical force on me if I were to ask for a refund. Many of the details are escaping me. I was experiencing some serious health and mental health issues at the time and I was a vulnerable target. I'll admit that. I should have done my research and never paid him cash, but I just wanted to get in shape and he preyed upon that. I wanted this story to be told anyway because it's not right what he did and hes the one who runs the gym! Also, while i was there working out he had tweakers showing up and they would go into his office privately to chat. Given how amped up he was sometimes I have no doubt he was probably supplementing his workout regimen with meth. That's just a speculation though. Anyway. I hope no one else falls victim to this guy. Beware.
