    If you care about the life of your loved ones, DO NOT allow them to go to Pacifica. From our first interaction the staff lied to us about the price, the activities, the room, etc. We trusted their word and their brochure which indicated all of the services and activities they would provide. Little did we know that because my aunt couldn't speak, she couldn't complain about her treatment. She spent the last days of her life in this terrible facility surrounded by people who didn't care for her and only cared about her money. If we lived in the same state, we could have helped oversee her care. I am betting the staff took that knowledge and used it to treat her like a house plant instead of a human being. The staff quoted us a price for the room and care. We even signed a lease with the agreed upon price, which was also signed by a staff member (Torrey). Then, after a few weeks, we get a call almost doubling the price. When my aunt first moved into the facility, we were told her promised room wasn't ready. Instead they stuck her in a different room that had nothing on the walls, no tv, no dresser, nothing. It was as if she was in solitary confinement. She was left in that condition for four full days and agonizing nights. My aunt passed away after less than a month in the facility. Her last days were miserable. If there is a hell, she suffered it on earth due to the negligence of the staff. In addition, we have not received our reimbursement for the unused lease due to her death. The staff is impossible to get a hold of, does not return phone calls or emails unless you are a prospective client they can swindle out of money, and does not care about the people they are paid to care for. We have left Margie 6 verbal messages and 1 email and still no response. If I could give negative stars, I would. If I could pay to make sure that the entire staff gets the same treatment they gave my aunt, I would. Instead, we will just have to settle for getting our lawyer involved. I award Pacifica zero stars and may God have mercy on their souls.

    Hello I been working in Pacifica seor living for one year as a Medtech /caregiver I love this place my RCC is wonderful my supervisor Rosie is awesome all the Medtechs and Caregivers they care about our residents we do the best care ,I been working in many places I see the different in Pacifica wonderful place

    This place is absolutely the worst. My mother had Aphasia and could not move her right side, nor could she speak. This meant she was to be delivered food in her room. Every meal was cold. Sometimes they would microwave it. There were times when they would drop off food and leave it wrapped in plastic. Since she couldn't move her right side, she couldn't get to her food. Between me her son and her sister we brought her food everyday so she could have at least one decent meal. Luckly, we had a camera in her room. There was more than one occasion where the med techs forgot to put help her to bed, and we had to drive there to make sure they did their jobs. There were also times when medication was not given to her. There were three or four directors during her stay. None of them could do anything. We would send out our complaints and get the response of "I'm sorry, we'll look into it." Then nothing changed. The only reason we kept her there was because it was so close to mine and her sister's house. So, when things did go wrong, we could be there to step in. If your family member can move and speak this maybe a decent place. If they need care this place is not where to take them.

    I've been working at Pacifica for almost half a year and this is one of the best jobs I've ever had the residents and the staff are great it feels like a family here I would recommend this place to anyone who's looking to put their family member in a residential community the staff is very caring and the directors are very caring this is a great place

With regard to the other issues that you mention, due to HIPPA rules (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), we are restricted from commenting regarding your aunt’s medical care. After re-reviewing your comments we reached out to the executive director who confirmed that there were missteps along the way. However, due to this new leadership, and also additional staff training, it is unlikely that your experience would happen to families who are currently residing in our community.
