How did Mother Mary not have a doula? I find this hard to believe. Perhaps in the nativity scene she simply stepped aside, for that is what doulas do, they give and contain space for birth to happen. I am so grateful to have had Luna by my side as I was bringing my son to the world. She was an amazing container for my emotions and journey. Seeing her there during every contraction, reminded me each time that I could do it. Her compassion and non-judgement made the journey smoother. I also took her birthing class and it was all I needed to create my birth plan. Thank you.
